Let them praise your great and awesome name
He is holy
Exalt the Lord our God
and worship at his footstool;
He is holy
Exalt the Lord our God
and Worship at his holy mountain
for the Lord our God is holy (Psalm 99:3, 5, 9)
The deeper the humbling and the fear of God in the holy presence, the more awesome and complete his empowerment to put off the old man. Yes, that old Egyptian nature, its will, its curse.
For in the same breath, the fire that burns to purify is just one aspect, for the fire comes also to ignite and set ablaze with the glorious cinders of God’s power. The Holy fire works two fold. One to abase and the other to exalt. The one to abase the sinful nature and the other to exalt that which is brought up through the power of resurrection.
Through holiness we discover a hidden power that brings judgement upon the flesh. And in Christ, we are made free, doing God’s will. In it we are able to put off what is natural and put on what is supernatural. What a wonder working power that God has revealed in us.
